Translation

This is from the beginning of a page in a brochure I picked up in a Helsinki tourism office; I can’t put my finger on it, but because of the way this passage is translated, I feel vaguely warned. When I read this, I hear the voice of a horror-film-trailer voice-over in my head:

You will feel it, come rain or shine, during a cultural experience, enjoying walks along the seashore or trying out winter sports. You’ll recognise it as you feel your face warming up and your mind tingle. It’s the great outdoors and being exposed to the elements. It’s the positive strangeness of the locals and the exoticism of the season.
